- My Biggest mistake.
My Biggest mistake.
One of the biggest mistakes I made in writing was that I separated it from learning and explosive ideas.
I treated it as just another task—something I had to do—not as a way to explore and expand my mind.
Of course, there’s nothing wrong with that approach, but I wondered why I never had great ideas to write about.
Every time I sat down to write, I realized I hadn’t filled my mind with perspectives and inspiration—there was nothing I felt excited about.
Maybe you’ve felt the same:
Wondering how writing comes so naturally to others
How they have such great ideas
Why their writing feels like it flows
Why they write so often
And so much more
Why am I telling you this?
Because I wrote this way my whole life—
Not realizing what was actually wrong.
Whenever I got excited about an idea, I waited. I didn’t write right away.
I waited for the “right time.”
But when that time came, the excitement was gone.
The ideas had faded. I had nothing I truly wanted to say.
I hated it, and I didn’t know why.
Until one day, I was just scrolling X in the living room—not expecting much—
And I came across a post by Noah. I don’t remember the exact words, but the main idea stuck with me:
“People want effortless writing, but they separate it from learning and creativity.”
That hit me hard.
It was one of those lessons you kind of already know, but need to really hear to believe.
It changed my perspective on writing entirely.
Then I remembered something Dan Koe once said:
“When I stopped making content and started writing to clarify my thoughts, the right people started to find my content.”
I had always thought that was great advice,
But now it took on a whole new meaning.
That same day, I tried it. I wrote to clarify my thoughts. I took notes. I learned.
And I had the best time ever—I felt energized, curious, alive.
So, next time your writing feels dull or forced, try this:
Don’t separate it from learning or that childlike sense of wonder.
Thanks for reading.
