Understand the Effect of Small Actions on Your Life
“Everything that isn’t 0 compounds.” – Salih Bloom
This quote perfectly represents the idea behind this newsletter and headline.
Small actions can have a much bigger effect on your life than you might realize.
Take this example: You’re on a flight from NYC to LA, but something goes wrong. The trajectory of the flight changes by just a few centimeters. If you continued in a straight line, you would end up in Tijuana, Mexico.
Pretty big difference, right?
A small change can lead to a big difference.
You might not even notice it, but it matters. It works exactly the same way with negative numbers.
All of those late nights, game nights, and missed sleep add up.
This doesn’t mean you can’t watch Friends after a long day or go out with your friends.
But it does mean that all of those small actions compound. After a few years, they can leave you in the worst state of your life, and you won’t even realize how you got there.
Good or bad, these things add up. So, make sure that the positive small improvements outweigh the negative ones, and keep working to eliminate the bad habits.
From now on, try to remember this. A year from now, you might not even recognize yourself—for the better.
